Temperatures expected to fall below seasonal averages
The announcement identifies Wednesday, 4 November 2026 as the expected start of the cooler, wetter conditions. The weather system is forecast to affect the country beginning in western areas. Temperatures, which were around seasonal averages and locally above them when the announcement was issued, are expected to decrease noticeably. According to the assessment shared by the ministry, below-average temperatures could persist until the middle of the following week. Precipitation is generally expected to take the form of showers and thundery showers. At higher elevations in northern and eastern areas, mixed rain and snow or snowfall is possible. The announcement therefore distinguishes the broader rainfall outlook from the possibility of snow in elevated locations. It does not forecast snow for every province or settlement: the specific areas identified for wintry precipitation are the higher parts of the north and east. Source

Falling temperatures could bring frost and icing to higher inland areas. Separately, the ministry reports a localized risk of agricultural frost inland because of low temperatures. The two assessments have different geographic qualifications: the frost and icing outlook emphasizes elevated areas, while the agricultural frost risk is described as local within the interior. The announcement does not provide crop-specific damage estimates or report agricultural losses that have already occurred. Source
